This month's senior spotlight is Sydney Ragan. Sydney has many goals and aspirations for her life after high school. During the interview Sydney stated that she is planning on going to a community college like John A. Logan or Rend Lake College to pursue a degree in the medical field. She is not sure what kind of career she wants in the medical field, but she thinks she may want to become a nurse.

Sydney was next asked about any advice she may have for the underclassman. She said, “My advice to them would be to keep up with their school work and don’t fall behind.” I think this is a great piece of advice because sometimes all it takes is a little bit of encouragement to make a difference in someone's life. Next, I asked Sydney about her favorite high school memory. She said that she has a lot of favorite memories, but one of her favorite memories is just senior year in general. She says that she has really enjoyed making new friends and enjoying all of the senior activities.

Lastly, I asked Sydney about her favorite teacher and subject here at FCHS. She responded, “My all time favorite teacher is Mrs. Tony because she has always been there for me even through the toughest of times. She has helped me be a better student and reach all my goals. If it wasn’t for her, I would have never been able to catch up and be able to graduate this year.” Her favorite subject at school is English. Sydney stated that she has always really enjoyed her English classes and found them very interesting. Overall, Sydney has been a great student here at FCHS and has overcome many obstacles in order to reach her goals. We truly wish Sydney the best of luck and success in her life after high school.
